This Privacy Policy explains what data Cryptic Daily collects, why we collect it, how it is used, and your rights in relation to it. We do not sell your personal data.
Cryptic Daily ("we", "us", "our") is an independent digital media publication covering cryptocurrency markets, blockchain technology, decentralised finance, Web3, NFTs, and related topics. The website is operated by Anti Gravity and is available at crypticdaily.com.
This Privacy Policy applies to all visitors of crypticdaily.com. It describes the personal data we collect, the legal basis for processing it, who we share it with, and the rights available to you under applicable data protection law — including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Data collected by third-party services used on this site (listed in Section 03) is governed by their own privacy policies.
Cryptic Daily collects minimal data. Below is a precise and complete account of what is collected and why.

Data we do NOT collect
Cryptic Daily uses the following third-party services to operate. Each service processes data according to its own privacy policy. We have linked to each for your reference.
Headless CMS — stores and delivers all editorial content (articles, authors, categories, images). Sanity does not process visitor data.
Provides live and historical cryptocurrency market data (prices, market cap, volume). API requests are made server-side from Vercel. CoinGecko does not receive your IP address or browser data.
PostgreSQL database used to store newsletter subscriber email addresses and anonymous article view counts. Hosted on AWS infrastructure. Subject to GDPR-compliant data processing agreements.
Hosting and content delivery platform. Serves all pages of crypticdaily.com via a global edge network. Processes server request logs including IP addresses for routing and security. Data is retained for a limited period per Vercel's policy.
Web analytics service. Collects anonymised usage data including pages visited, device type, and approximate location. We have enabled IP anonymisation. Data is processed in the EU where possible. See Section 04 for full detail and opt-out instructions.
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use Cryptic Daily. This helps us improve our content and identify technical issues.
What GA4 collects on our behalf
How we have configured GA4
Legal basis
We rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) for analytics processing — specifically our interest in understanding how our content performs in order to improve it. This interest does not override your rights, as the data is anonymised and not used for profiling or advertising.
How to opt out
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also block GA4 by using a browser extension such as uBlock Origin, or by enabling the Do Not Track header in your browser settings.
Cryptic Daily displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. AdSense uses cookies and similar technologies to serve ads that are relevant to your interests based on your browsing activity.
How AdSense works
Legal basis
Where ad personalisation is enabled, the legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time using the options below. Non-personalised ads may still be shown based on page content rather than user data.
How to manage or opt out of ad personalisation
When you visit an article page, a fire-and-forget request increments an anonymous integer counter for that article stored in our Supabase database. This counter is used to surface trending articles in the sidebar.
This request records only the article slug (the URL identifier) and increments the count by one. It does not record your IP address, browser data, session ID, or any information that could identify you. There is no way to connect a view count increment to an individual visitor.
This processing does not require a legal basis under GDPR as it does not constitute processing of personal data.
If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with comprehensive data protection law, you have the following rights in relation to personal data we hold about you.
You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you and information about how we process it.
You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate personal data we hold about you.
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data. For newsletter subscribers, this means deletion of your email address from our database.
You have the right to request that we restrict processing of your data while a complaint is being investigated.
Where processing is based on consent and carried out by automated means, you have the right to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (such as analytics). Where you object, we will cease processing unless we have compelling legitimate grounds.
Where processing is based on your consent (newsletter, ad personalisation), you can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@crypticdaily.com with the subject line "Data Request". We will respond within 30 days. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected.
Cryptic Daily is not directed at children under the age of 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data — for example by subscribing to our newsletter — please contact us at hello@crypticdaily.com and we will delete that data promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, the technology we use, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
We will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy without obtaining your consent where required. Your continued use of Cryptic Daily after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

We aim to respond to all data-related requests within 30 days. For complex requests we may extend this period by a further 60 days, in which case we will notify you within the initial 30-day window.
